One of the legendary Nine Sons of the Dragon, Jiaotu (椒图) is the guardian of gates, thresholds, sacred boundaries, and protection against intrusion.
In ancient China mythology, Jiaotu was known for his defensive and withdrawn nature, often depicted guarding the entrances of temples, palaces, and imperial compounds. His image was traditionally carved onto great doors and gate structures to ward off evil, repel intruders, and protect what lay within.
This full-wrap design depicts Jiaotu standing before towering imperial gates surrounded by smoke, burning lanterns, and rich red-and-gold dynastic aesthetics inspired by classical Chinese mythology and ancient fortress architecture.
