Albert Spaggiari — The Gentleman Bank Robber
Albert Spaggiari — The Gentleman Bank Robber
Mastermind. Escape artist. Legend of the French underworld.
The man who robbed a bank through the sewers and vanished into myth.
This full-wrap museum-luxe design immortalises Albert Spaggiari in dramatic sepia-and-gold noir style inspired by 1970s French crime photography, Riviera underworld mythology, vintage newspaper headlines, and the infamous Société Générale heist.
Surrounded by sewer tunnels, vault blueprints, French francs, wanted notices, cigarette smoke, graffiti-covered walls, and the streets of Nice, the artwork captures one of the most sophisticated and daring robberies in modern history.
In 1976, Spaggiari and his crew tunneled into the Société Générale bank vault through the sewers beneath the city — escaping with millions without firing a single shot. On the vault wall they left the now legendary message:
“Sans armes, ni haine, ni violence.”
“Without weapons, hatred, or violence.”
Designed with extra vertical framing for full-wrap apparel, this piece is part of The Rogues Gallery collection by History Buffs.
