One of the legendary Nine Sons of the Dragon, Chiwen (蚩吻) is the guardian of rooftops, sacred architecture, and protection against fire and disaster.
In ancient China mythology, Chiwen was traditionally placed upon imperial rooftops and temple ridges, watching over the realm from above. Believed to ward off flames, evil, and catastrophe, Chiwen became a symbol of vigilance, protection, and unyielding watchfulness.
